It is amazing how fast the internet really is, I am not talking about the speed of your connection here or how quickly you can download the latest games or files.

What I am referring to is the speed of change!

I am sure that many of you reading this have probably read or have a copy of the eBook 'Publishing At The Speed Of Thought.'

Now this is an excellent eBook, I have it myself and have read it all the way through, with eBooks you really cannot say from cover to cover unless you download and print it. Maybe the terminology should be from first screen to last screen, nope doesn't seem to have the same impact does it!

So let me get back to what I was saying about speed, the speed I refer to here of course is the speed of change. In particular that speed we relate to marketing on the internet and how quickly systems become obsolete, notice that I didn't say ideas.

Ideas will always be fresh and useable we just have to understand how we can adapt them to meet the needs of the new internet.

Yes the internet seems to have a way of reinventing itself on a regular basis, as new concepts and new technology come to the fore, the old fades away and is replaced by the new.

One of the hardest concepts as an Internet Marketer is to come to terms with this speed of change and adaptability.

All through time species have had to change and adapt or die out, it is the basis of life itself and transforms as well to the technological transformations that take place on a daily basis. It is these changes and adaptions that as an Internet Marketer we need to recognise, take advantage of and help others to understand and use.

I remember 2001 the first year that I made a conscious decision to actively attempt to establish a home based business on the internet.

Email and webpages were the key back then and if you could create a killer website promote it via email, traffic and banner exchanges, chances are you made some money.

At that time I didn't, I still had to learn about auto-responders, mailing lists and virus protection and what worked and what didn't. I found a program and it worked and it started to bring in a steady flow of funds, nothing spectacular however and I still had a very large learning curve ahead of me, as did many at that time.

Fast forward as the Internet Technology invariably does and here we are in 2005.

RSS, Blogs, Podcasts and eZine Publishing and a whole gamut of new technology to adapt to and learn about.

I think here the key to success is in adaptability, how to keep in touch with basic concepts and adapt them to suit this new technology. If you can find your way to do that then you are already moving towards your dreams and goals.

Contrary to what you may hear all over the internet this doesn't happen overnight, it takes time to adapt and although the technology may move ahead at enormous pace your ability to learn is keyed to you.

Some adapt quicker than others, but guess what we all adapt in our own time, we all embrace the adaptions and move forward with it, until we find ourselves at a point in time, in our future involved in our dreams and the dreams become our reality.

Mine have taken 4 years to even begin to produce the results I was expecting, but there is still more to uncover there is an even greater journey unfolding. This is definitely the stuff that dreams are made of, join me on this fascinating journey together as we unfold our dreams together.

Embrace the new technology and learn about it every chance you get, because you too will reach a point in your course where your dreams will begin to be fulfilled.
